On A High Note

On A High Note Vol 2

This is the second installation of On A High Note- this little series is bringing me so much joy already. Last week was busy with wonderful things, summer is coming in full swing and I am here for it. Longer days make everything seem so much better. I hope you had a wonderful week too. Without further ado here are the things I wanted to share with you. (rhyming unintentional)

TO DO

Baseball is back ya’ll! I don’t know how many of you are fans, but to me Baseball symbolizes the Classic America we all know and love. I missed being able to go to games in 2020, especially coming off the World Series Victory in 2019. The Nationals Stadium just opened at full capacity and we went to a game Monday. IT. WAS. THE. BEST. To be fully transparent, we were sitting up high, I was sweaty, and I had a minor allergic reaction to my Mango Cider lol so it wasn’t perfect, but just the idea of being there and life getting back to normal made me so happy! Also for food recommendations, I got the BBQ Mac Tots from See You Tater, and they were delicious, if you haven’t tried them, I’d say they are 5 stars. Anyways, moral of this story- If you have the chance to go to a NATS game- (or whatever baseball team is local to you) I highly suggest it- one of the best summertime activities out there.

TO SHOP

Lindsey Letters is one of my very favorite Artists- She has the most beautiful heart, and it shows through her art. I own several of her paintings, and hand lettered sayings- but she just released a water collection which is absolutely beautiful. Art is one thing I have no problem investing in- but good news is right now the water collection is 15% off, so if you see something that strikes your fancy I’d get it sooner than later. This one of my favorites from the new collection.

TO FOLLOW

I’ve been working on pairing down the people I follow on Instagram- just ensuring the things that show up in my feed truly bring me joy- I’m still following over 1,200 people so I need to keep pairing back, but through the process I re-discovered a couple of of my favorites. One of which is Madison Vining– She and I used to be in a photography group together probably ten years ago. Now she’s a Mama of 6, who lives on this amazing homestead they built. She and her husband have farm animals with the cutest names (think Phoebe and Rachel, Dwight, Donut etc.) She’s got great style, the prettiest home decor and she is just so genuine. If you are looking for an authentic account to follow she’s your gal.

TO TRY

The last thing I have for today is a Home Decor Tip. It is to try putting your books in rainbow order. I got the idea from one of my roommates Courtney, who got it from the ladies at the HOME EDIT. I organized my books a few months ago, and it still makes me so happy when I come into my room to see them. It was a bit time consuming- but makes a huge statement in the room and it makes me happy. I am a super visual person, so I remember what the cover of a book looks like, and consequently what color section to look in. For those of you who are more genre based organizers, I totally understand. I just figured it was a fun tip for you to potentially try. (Also- remember earlier when I mentioned I loved Lindsey Letters?- The painting on my frame TV is done by her, and so is the painting on the far right!)

Happy Monday friends! I hope you have a wonderful week, and I will catch you next Monday!
